Mercedes EQC will arrive to Dubai in August 2020

Mercedes-Benz will soon launch its first electric SUV in the United Arab Emirates.

In the summer of 2019 Mercedes started delivering the EQC, its first electric SUV, in European markets. One year later, Mercedes is bringing the EQC to the United Arab Emirates. The first deliveries should take place in August 2020. Prices are still unknown, but we expect a base price of about 290.000 AED.

The EQC is a 100% electric SUV with a realistic range of 300 km. The car got 408 hp and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5,1 seconds. It’s off-roading capabilities are rather limited due to its relatively low ground clearance (130 mm) and heavy weight (2.425 kg), but thanks to its all-wheel-drive system, it shouldn’t get stuck in the sand too easily.

Competition for the EQC is almost non-existent in the emirates. Right now, only Tesla offers an alternative with the Model X. Audi and Jaguar should soon join, with the e-tron and I-Pace SUV’s.
