Electric cars in Dubai get free parking until 2022

emirati charges electric car

As part of its Green Mobility Strategy, Dubai has announced a new incentive to promote electric vehicle adoption in the emirate.

The emirate of Dubai already has a number of incentives in place for electric cars, going from free public charging to favourable road tolls. Now, the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is adding another incentive to the list. Electric cars that are registered in Dubai are exempt from paying parking fees until June 30, 2022.

Dubai currently counts 1803 electric vehicles that are eligible for free parking. The vast majority of those cars (80%) are owned by government administrations.

By adding new electric car incentives, Dubai hopes to convince more private companies and individuals to switch to electric mobility.
